Anyone own their own business here?
Anyone own their own business here? Just curious.
I don't. Making other people rich does suck
though I have to admit.

Re: Anyone own their own business here?
I use to have a flowers shop. It was a nice part of my life. All my family work in flowers business. I don't anymore. I teach now. For awhile I done both but I can't do it anymore. So I choose teaching and I am happy with my choice. :)

Good one flux. Any suggestions anyone regarding
legitimate home based "no fee" business
opportunities?

Re: Anyone own their own business here?
Sure... For only $39.95 you can get the kit on how to .. which will tell you how to put an add in the paper and collect the same from others.. [not that I got duped into this btw] but it never ceases to amaze me how people can just do that to others.. but there are always tons of them soliciting in the papers .. I suggest you ck with the Better Business Bureau before you invest in anything these days!
I was serious about the piano tuning business though.
It would take a few months to learn the trade but there is very little start up costs involved and to keep it going as well. There is not much competition .. unlike plumbers, electricians, whathaveu. Starting out by working in piano store is a good way to learn and get it going. Once you are on your own... you basically need a few tools and a phone.
It becomes your business out of your home and so much is tax deductible -- a portion of your normal house bills, of course your phone etc etc. Would you like to know what tuners make? depending upon your area anywhere from $80/hour and up. In NYC its like $120. Once you learn the trade well it will only take you about one hour to do a professional tuning. In the beginning it takes a little longer. Another perk: you make your own hours.
On the downside: if this is your only job--health insurance is expensive and you will have to contribute to your own retirement plan and social security [not like that is a security anymore].
For more info: http://www.ptg.org [Piano Technicians Guild]
Btw, I am not a piano tuner.
For the rest of you.. there are some great links about pianos on that website as well.
