Thank-you so for saying such!!!!

The next chemo treatment is tomorrow, Friday, September 18, 2009. Will be listening to Sir RINGO and reading a FAB book or two while the iv drips infuse.

This chemo treatment was faster acting; started to feel yuckoooooo in about 3 hours after the iv's. Did drive myself to the treatment, much to the doctor's horror. Will probably set up with one of the neighbors for next time. The pharmacy gave trouble fillng the daily anti-nausea follow-up pills for the 2 days after treatment. Seems they didn't want to fork over the money up front to buy the supply. Since they wouldn't refill, ended up driving back to the hospital just before the chemo area closed for the weekend to get them to give the pills until the pharmacy can refill the prescription and replace them maybe Monday or Tuesday. Can you say CASH COW, and, All You Need is Cash.... Why do they care? The insurance company pays....
Lucky, didn't have the headaches like the last time, but did have a bit of bucket duty and ummm other....though it was not too bad. The hair is DEFINITELY thinning and perhaps soon will resemble the J&Y 1969 hair peace project. The precious ones enjoyed the 3 quiet, lazy Toronto-Hotel-like days of rest, watching the mini meals go down with plenty of water.
Will probably bagism school on Monday just Because, if nothing else....
Another treatment done, 6 more to go.
D/B

Thanks, Doc. School continues to be the worst thorn....

Again, the principal is trying to re-assign out of the classroom altogether and perhaps just out of view, to sort and file old outdated catalogues that have been piled in the dust and dirt for over a year....out of sight, out of mind....

Next, was ordered through the assistant principal (meeting at 9am) to start wearing hats at school "It is NOW time....", and, "call to investigate disability leave, it pays 80% of your pay. It's time...."

Then, the principal said NO to pre-arranged discussions with challenged children with the Help! of the counsellor about hair loss and other appearance changes, etc.

Think the principal is ashamed or embarrassed by the hair loss and the Lovely Linda's dreaded disease.

Guess he also missed Robin Roberts, reporter on ABC Good Morning America when she decided to toss the wig on national tv during her breast cancer chemo treatments....

sigh....
Good thing there are all you lot, Sir RINGO and his friends.

You KNOW it!!!!

The lady at the post office just down the street from the public elementary school in question, the ladies at the local bank, the djs from the big named rock radio station who were doing a live outside broadcast near the pharmacy, the pharmacist, and the ladies at the salon who gave a shampoo and a buzz cut (sometimes known as a J&Y hair peace cut), and most everyone else that heard the story think that "it's time" for lawyers and the state human rights commission....

Turns out that the national educators' magazine was in the mail today with a little article in it about breast cancer. October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month and it seems that October 2, Friday, is National Denim Day at schools, in support of breast cancer awareness.

So, should the manditory hat be denim that day????
