Stephens Ringo stories and more...

now, as for that ringo story: in a period spanning 4 days of march of 2003, i
was fortunate enough to see ringo at the bottom line (3/22), the nbc late
show w/ carson daly taping (3/24) and the signing at fye (3/25).
at the bottom line show, i was sitting in the front row and i had on my
"yellow submarine" tye dyed shirt. as u might very well know, whenever ringo is
going to do "yellow submarine," he always introduces it by saying something like
"if u don't know the words to this song, u r in the wrong place." when he did
that this time, i pointed to my shirt and said "you mean this 1, ringo?" he
laughed and said "yeah, just like your shirt."
2 days later, at the carson daly taping, once again i secured a spot in the
front. (if u taped this show, u can see me up and dancing during ringo's
performance. the whole crowd was made to do this..........i sure didn't mind.)
during the commercial breaks, they played beatles recordings over the loudspeaker.
"come together" was playing and i was singing , bopping and air-drumming (yes,
air-drumming) to it. i don't remember if someone tapped me on the shoulder,
but at 1 point i looked up at the stage....................there was ringo
starr air-drumming along w/ me to "come together," a moment i will surely never
forget.
the next day was the day that "ringo rama" came out and fye had the signing.
having met ringo at the previous fye signing for "the anthology...so far" in
2001, i expected that he was just going to quickly sign the cd and not be very
social as he did then. i decided , though, that i had to thank him for
acknowledging my shirt at the bottom line and air-drumming w/ me at the carson daly
show. he said "i remember that shirt!"
some other time, i'll have to share w/ u my paul and george encounters. ( i
spoke w/ both of them on the rockline radio program and met met paul at the
signing he did at barnes and noble in ny in 2001 for "blackbird singing.")

Stephen will be joining us shortly.. in the interim hope you enjoy his story
peace and love
