Santa Speedo Run

But speaking of cookies...I am finally getting in the baking mood, so I will play Betty Crockett and post a few recipes. These sound good,huh?
"The Settlement Cookbook" (1903 edition)
THE WAY TO A MAN'S HEART
Under the Auspices of
"The Settlement" (The Milwaukee Settlement House)
Clove Cookies
1 b. brown sugar
1/4 lb. butter
4 eggs
1/2 oz. ground cloves
1 teaspoon cinnamon
1 tablespoon chocolate
2 teaspoons baking powder
1 lb. flour
Mix sugar and butter, add eggs, flour and the other ingredients. Roll, cut and bake fifteen minutes
(didn't give the oven temp as it is an old recipe but I would guess from the time,325 degrees would do the job.)
