Progress of 2005 Christmas cd's!!

Found a fun bit I think. It is comedian 'Bobcat Goldthwaite' doing about a minute called 'Letter to Santa'. I know there are many more of these classics available just have to trip up on them. Would also Love to find some Christmas stuff from the 20's and such just not sure what to search for.

I see the enthusiasm for this topic is as big as the Halloween one. Have found a few new good tunes to make it even harder to make the choice for final playlist of the Christmas cd. Hope to find more but no luck so far. Don't need more tunes just want more.

I think you should add 'The Mizer Brothers tunes' off of 'The Year Without A Santa Claus'. Those are some of my favorites,,,,,

,,,,"I'm Mister Green Christmas, I'm Mister Sun, I'm Mister Heat Blister, I'm Mister Hundred and One, They call me Heat Miser, What ever I touch, Starts to melt in my clutch, I'm too much!"

Re: Progress of 2005 Christmas cd's!!

Bravo TV had a special on the 100 Best things about the Holidays and Mr Mizer was on the list. Said there are even websites devoted to him.

I was going through what Christmas stuff I have on the computer trying to organize it and such. I cannot spend two months on this cd like I did the Halloween ones. Sadly much of the great stuff I have is on lp or cassette or video tape and cannot be put on the computer unless I use the microphone to record it which would take away the quality.

I am listening to a Christmas cassette from a year or two ago and right now 'Bugs the Red Nosed Bunny' is playing. It is from a album by Mel Blanc that has 4 Bugs Bunny Christmas stories on it. Wish I could put that on the computer. Lot's of great Chrsitmas talking story tracks to use though many seem on the sad side.

As I was going through the songs last night (while drinking coffee and egg nog and having Christmas radio on behind me in the kitchen and snowy Monday night football in front of me in the Living room) I got a call from Wormy Nephew saying they were on their way back to the Hospital to see Heather, Todd and the baby. He asked if I was going but as my Youngest was not Home when I got there I thought she was at work and would be calling for a ride Home.

He said she was with Him. My Oldest came in at that time as she had been up at the Hospital. So I deserted the Christmas cd work yet again and headed for the hospital. It was finally cold and windy outside. I had some kumquats in my jacket pocket as I like to do this time of year. I got up to the room and most everyone was there. I greeted my Sister as Granny as it is her first Grandchild. I greeted my Brother in Law as Grandpa and the Nephews as Unc.

My Sister and her hubby were on their way to Wal Mart to get Heather and Todd some supplies for the night. Heathers Sister (I call her Cuddin Sis' was behind me and was laughing because I did not know she was following me.

 To be continued

Re: Progress of 2005 Christmas cd's!!

I went in and saw heather and Todd and Heathers Mother and Cuddin Sis's fairly new baby Shane. Shane looks like my Grandfather to me and has an infectious smile. My Youngest was there as well and her best friend was down the Hall having just had her baby the Day before. Her friend came down to Hall and we visited a bit. Dr Johnny was there too. He was upset a little because I spent 30 bucks Sunday to have a car tire patched that had a screw in it. He last Week plugged another tire for me at his Home but was not Home from His Mothers yet Sunday.

I teased Heather as she lie there recovering and asked her how long before she could get nekkid and who would be first when she did? They had me hold the new baby and took a photo or two. I said "So this is what you look like Gal. I also said "The baby saw my Green Teeth and thought I was her Daddy Todd.

Tood and I then walked down to the lobby and went outside for some nice cold fresh air. The wind was blowing from the Norht and we could smell the Krispy Kreme doughnuts cooking just up the driveway from the Hospital. I told Todd this was exactly how it was the night he was there a coupla Weeks earlier having Gall bladder surgery and that His Step pa, Brother, Dr Johnny and I walked over there and got some donuts and coffee. Krispy Kreme has it set up where you can watch the donuts go through the frier and the glazer. They also have nice old pictures of Krispy Kreme of old.

I then went with him into the gift shop for him to get some snacks and enjoyed looking at the feastive items. They even had a copy of the Beatles Readers Digest for sale. Lot's of decorations in the hall ways too. With my Parents and Grandparents I have spent alot of Christmas time's in the past at Hospitals. Then My Youngest came down as well as the Wormy Nephew. Cuddin Sis and My Youngest friend who is a new Mother were out in the cold smoking area having a smoke and wearing out their cell phones.

My Sister pulled back up and had some stuff for the new Parents and had brought wormy a sammich. By then visiting hours were over so we went to Krispy Kreme for a dozen assorted and a coffee. Wormy got a chocolate milk. We went to my Sisters and watched some tube and I ate some leftovers and looked at their tree which had fell Sunday and caused a Family squabble. Nerves are always on edge this time of year it seems.

Then the Youngest and I went Home and I was going to continue watching football and work on the Christmas cd. Hot Corey was there so that killed that. We wanted to record some Holiday hits but decided to go riding around. The youngest decided to go to bed and the Oldest, Hot Corey and I went and parked on the downtown marina and had a mile or so walk downtown in the cold looking at decorations and giggling as we walked past the local queer bar.

We then rode around looking at decorations and they wanted a Hot Chocolate. I said Krispy Kreme was probably the only place to get it that time of night. The Oldest Brat said she wanted to get Hot chocolate and where would have a machine working that did not have roach droppings in the machine. so I suggested krispy Kreme. We then went Home and watched some Holiday tv and joked around. So naturally I got little sleep again last night.

I'm starting to get into the spirit of things too. The wife, brats, and I have to go to a party for her cousins new house in Pittsburgh this Saturday that i really dont want to go to. Her other cousin will surely be there also to make me feel guilty as she and her husband bought a new house just 15 minutes away and we still havent bothered to visit them even after numerous calls. At least we'll meet up in Pittsburgh,,,,,ohhh the irony.

Anywho, i'm thinking Friday might be one of those nights where me, the wife, and kids snuggle in the living room sipping egg nog and hot chocolate by the light of the fireplace and christmas tree while watching a christmas special of some sort. This sounds good, but i'll probably ruin it by drinking too much during the day and hitting the sack early.

I also caught the ending of Chuck Browns Christmas last night, but I did catch the half hour special afterwards that showed some christmas excerpts. Quality stuff.
