Hear Here?
Stealing a couple bits from Beatlefan:
1. Contrary to rumours about Paul's upcoming boxset being released by EMI...shouldn't have believed that one since Paul's not signed to EMI. And he's not signed to Hear Music, either. Supposedly, Paul wasn't happy with the far more than adequate sales of MAF. (Same story with EMI and C&C...even though that sold more than adequately, and far more than it deserved.) No, Paul's planning on releasing the box set (and a couple more box sets) next year, along with his back catalouge on ATO...the company that released the chartbusted "Electric Arguments"...supposedly in conjuction with a tour. Perhaps that might help, as Paul, once a natural marketing genius who used to tour in conjunction with a new album drags his feet for months following before he tours. (And yes, a few appearances here and there gets you one day's worth of publicity...and probably not for the current album. A tour at the time of the album...your bringing it to the world.) So...feel free to scratch your heads over Paul's business decisions. ATO hasn't had a major hit since David Gray's "Babylon". And Hear Music, on the strength of signing Paul, signed James Taylor, Carly Simon, Joni Mitchell, John Mellencamp, Elvis Costello, most selling better than they have for years. And they're fairly convinced Ringo's EMI deal will fall through soon enough, and want to sign him.

Re: Hear Here?
Eh, Pauls probably still all stoked about the acclaim his 'Electric Arguments' album recieved (although its horrible) and he probably thinks he reached out to the public youth again with it and ATO was a part of it. No biggie, its Paul McCartney, his next album will sell as well and maybe worse than the awful 'Memory Almost Full' and he'll sit there wondering why. Its not the record companys fault.

Re: Hear Here?
My guess is that it's not so much the sales figures (which ain't all that bad) that bother Paul, and he can't have a problem with the reviews...although it probably doesn't do Paul's ego much good seeing how many people trying to stuff themselves in the bathroom during "House of Wax". I think Paul is a bit miffed that he's not hitting #1 like Bob Dylan. Not that he was expecting #1 for "Electric Arguments", he might be happy that it did better than the other two Fireman cds put together (which might have something to do with all the stickers plastered on the thing telling you it's a Paul McCartney album). Doing some of the songs live, and doing the promo interviews helped too...far more than the webcast he did for "Rushes", being interviewed in disguise and remaining silent. Although I did dig the naked chicks.
